Wooden apple box — the standard grip cube used to raise talent, level furniture, prop a light stand or sit on between setups. Laminated plywood construction with cut-out hand holds. The North American standard sizes are full (20 x 12 x 8 in), half (20 x 12 x 4 in), quarter (20 x 12 x 2 in) and eighth, or pancake (20 x 12 x 1 in); a full box laid on its different faces gives three working heights.
