Community Guidelines
Last updated: July 22, 2026
Lens Latitude works best when Hosts and Renters treat one another with honesty, respect, and accountability before, during, and after every rental. These Community Guidelines describe the standards we expect of everyone who uses the Platform. They form part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and Nondiscrimination Policy. Failing to meet these standards may result in the removal of content, cancellation of bookings, or suspension or termination of your account.
1. Our Shared Values
Our community is built on trust between people who own valuable gear and people who rely on it to create their work. We ask every member to act in good faith, honour their commitments, and consider the impact of their conduct on others. Hosts and Renters share responsibility for making each rental safe, reliable, and fair, and for resolving issues promptly and honestly when they arise.
2. Be Honest and Accurate
Keep your profile information accurate and your account current. Hosts should describe their gear truthfully, use current photographs, and disclose any defects, limitations, or usage rules so Renters know exactly what to expect. Renters should book only for themselves and for the purposes they disclose, and should ensure that any additional operators are approved through the Platform before handling the gear. Misrepresenting yourself, your gear, or your intended use undermines the community and is not permitted.
3. Be Respectful and Inclusive
Treat every member of the community professionally and courteously in messages, at pickups and drop-offs, and throughout any dispute. Harassment, threats, intimidation, hate speech, and abusive behaviour are never acceptable. Discrimination against any person on the basis of a protected characteristic is strictly prohibited and is governed by our Nondiscrimination Policy. A respectful, inclusive community is one in which everyone can participate with confidence.
4. Communicate Through the Platform
Keep your communications, bookings, payments, and documentation on the Platform. Doing so gives both parties a clear, time-stamped record, allows us to apply our policies accurately, and helps protect you if a dispute arises. Attempting to move transactions off-Platform to evade fees or protections is a violation of these Guidelines and our Terms of Service.
5. Care for the Gear
Hosts should provide gear that matches the listing, is clean, is in good working order, and is ready for use at the agreed pickup time. Renters should handle gear carefully, protect it against loss, theft, and damage, follow the Host’s handling and care instructions, and return it on time and in substantially the same condition in which it was received, excluding ordinary wear. Document the condition of the gear at pickup and return so that any issue can be resolved fairly.
6. Safety and Legal Compliance
Hosts are responsible for listing gear that complies with applicable ownership, licensing, insurance, and safety requirements. Renters are responsible for using gear lawfully and safely, securing it against theft or damage, and complying with all applicable laws and the Host’s stated rules. Illegal, reckless, or unauthorized use of gear, and any conduct that endangers people or property, is a serious violation of these Guidelines.
7. Reviews and Feedback
Reviews should be honest, based on genuine experience, and free of unlawful, discriminatory, or irrelevant content. Do not offer or accept anything of value in exchange for a review, post reviews to manipulate ratings, or use feedback to harass or retaliate against another member. Constructive, truthful feedback helps the whole community make better decisions.
8. Prohibited Behaviour
The following are not permitted on Lens Latitude: providing false or fraudulent information; harassment, threats, discrimination, or abuse; unsafe, illegal, or unauthorized use of gear; circumventing fees or moving transactions off-Platform; posting unlawful, infringing, or harmful content; tampering with, misusing, or attempting to compromise the Platform; and any conduct that violates our Terms of Service, this policy, or applicable law. We may investigate suspected violations and take action to protect the community.
9. Reporting and Enforcement
If a situation cannot be resolved directly, or if you witness conduct that breaches these Guidelines, contact Lens Latitude support through the Platform and provide accurate details and any supporting evidence. We may review messages, booking details, and related information to enforce our policies. Depending on the severity and circumstances, we may issue warnings, remove content, cancel bookings, limit features, withhold payouts where permitted, or suspend or terminate accounts. We aim to enforce these Guidelines fairly and consistently.
10. How to Contact Us
Questions about these Community Guidelines may be directed to Lens Latitude through the support and contact methods made available on the Platform, including our Contact Us page.
