Nondiscrimination Policy

Last updated: July 22, 2026

Lens Latitude is committed to building an open, inclusive community where everyone can rent and list gear free from discrimination. This Nondiscrimination Policy sets out the standards we expect of all users and reflects our obligations under the Canadian Human Rights Act and the human-rights legislation of the provinces and territories in which we operate. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Violating this policy may result in the removal of content, cancellation of bookings, or suspension or termination of your account.

1. Our Commitment

We believe that a marketplace for creative gear should be accessible to everyone, regardless of who they are or where they come from. Lens Latitude is committed to treating all members of our community with dignity and respect and to prohibiting discrimination on the Platform. We expect every user to share this commitment and to interact with others in good faith and without prejudice.

2. Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to all users of the Platform, including Hosts and Renters, and to all interactions that take place through or in connection with Lens Latitude — including listings, search and booking, messaging, pickups and returns, reviews, and dispute handling. It applies in addition to, and does not limit, the requirements of applicable human-rights and anti-discrimination law.

3. Protected Characteristics

Consistent with the Canadian Human Rights Act and applicable provincial and territorial human-rights codes, users must not discriminate against any person on the basis of a protected characteristic, including race, national or ethnic origin, colour, ancestry, place of origin, religion or creed, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, family status, genetic characteristics, disability, and any other ground protected under applicable law. Where a province or territory recognizes additional protected grounds, those grounds also apply.

4. Discrimination and Harassment

Users must not refuse to list to, rent to, or otherwise transact with a person, or impose different terms, conditions, or treatment, because of a protected characteristic. Users must not make statements — in listings, messages, reviews, or elsewhere on the Platform — that express a preference for, or discourage, any person or group on the basis of a protected characteristic. Harassment, hate speech, slurs, and demeaning or intimidating conduct directed at a person because of a protected characteristic are strictly prohibited.

5. Host Obligations

Hosts must offer their gear, terms, and availability to all qualified Renters on an equal basis and must not decline or cancel a booking, or apply different rules or pricing, because of a Renter’s protected characteristic. Hosts may set and apply consistent, objectively justifiable requirements relating to the safe and lawful use of their gear — such as verification, insurance, or experience requirements — provided those requirements are applied uniformly and are not used as a pretext for discrimination.

6. Renter Obligations

Renters must treat Hosts and any people they encounter through a rental with respect and must not engage in discriminatory or harassing conduct on the basis of a protected characteristic. Renters must not condition their booking decisions, communications, or reviews on a Host’s protected characteristics.

7. Accessibility and Accommodation

We are committed to a Platform that is accessible to people with disabilities, and we expect users to engage respectfully with reasonable accommodation needs. Users should not deny a transaction because a person requires an accommodation, and should make reasonable efforts to accommodate disability-related needs where doing so does not create undue hardship, consistent with applicable human-rights law.

8. Legitimate, Non-Discriminatory Reasons

This policy does not prevent users from declining or ending a transaction for legitimate, non-discriminatory reasons — for example, genuine concerns about safety, a Renter’s inability to meet clearly stated and uniformly applied verification or insurance requirements, non-payment, prior violations of our Terms, or a reasonable belief that the gear would be used unlawfully or unsafely. Such reasons must be applied consistently and in good faith, and must not be used to disguise discrimination based on a protected characteristic.

9. Reporting Discrimination

If you believe you have experienced or witnessed discrimination or harassment on the Platform, please report it to Lens Latitude support promptly and provide any relevant details and evidence, including platform messages. We take reports seriously, will review them fairly, and will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who makes a good-faith report.

10. Enforcement

Where we determine that a user has violated this policy, we may take action appropriate to the circumstances, including issuing warnings, removing content, cancelling bookings, limiting features, withholding payouts where permitted, and suspending or terminating accounts. Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent removal from the Platform. Nothing in this policy limits the rights and remedies available to affected individuals under applicable law.

11. How to Contact Us

Questions about this Nondiscrimination Policy may be directed to Lens Latitude through the support and contact methods made available on the Platform, including our Contact Us page.
